Supporting the Great Ride for Heart
CourierPost supported the fantastic efforts of the Great Ride for Heart team, by transporting the riders gear, food and equipment to key locations around the
country for this charity bicycle challenge.
The Great Ride For Heart successfully raised over $1.1 Million towards establishing a hub for cardiovascular research at the University of Auckland.
Community Activity
CourierPost wants to increasingly develop and manage our community initiatives for meaningful and lasting results. In order to help us to acheive this objective we have adopted the London Benchmarking Group international method for measuring, benchmarking and reporting community contributions.
Along with numerous community sponsorships and service in kind gestures throughout the year, and the conservation focused sponsorship of the Auckland Zoo’s Zoom Cheetah Experience, at Christmas time CourierPost runs a Christmas Charity Appeal to support the communities where we operate. All staff are encouraged to help each other to make a difference site by site and person by person across New Zealand.
We donate funds from our BackTrack your Trackpak programme to targeted initiatives around the country. One recent recipient has been the Motuihe Trust’s restoration of Motuihe Island’s natural environment of indigenous flora and fauna together with identified significant historic sites.
Express Couriers' Annual Christmas Charity Appeal
During the first couple of weeks of December 2009 we witnessed incredible team spirit and amazing generosity from our people. Participation in our Christmas Charity Appeal meant that our sites connected with their chosen local community group to find out what donations they could really use, and then collected those items for that charity. This year’s appeal produced a total collection just short of 900 kilograms – a top result!
The efforts of two teams in particular clearly placed them on top, with the highest tonnage of items collected per person.
Those sites are: Pace Wellington and CourierPost South Auckland. Donations collected by those sites were gladly received by the Suzanne Aubert Compassion Centre in Wellington and the Salvation Army in Auckland.
